Let me introduce you to a favorite plant in my Northwest Indiana garden, zone 5.  The map below will help you understand your area's zone number.  See the links below for moon phases, sunrise, and sunset information.

Lobelia 'Laguna Compact Blue with Eye' is a spectacular looking flower that is very tolerant of sun and heat.  Its compact habit, along with blue flower that is accented with a bright white eye, looks great whether in hanging baskets, planters and window boxes, or other landscape combinations.  Laguna is an outstanding plant for all summer flowering performance.  Growing just 8 to 12 inches tall, it performs well with just 4 to 6 hours of daily sun, well-drained soil, and has a cold tolerance of 28° F.
